7 Signs Your Website Is Losing You Customers (and How to Fix Them)
By the Nysia team 路 October 17, 2026
Your website might be getting visitors and still not bringing in business. That's one of the most frustrating situations for a business owner, because it's hard to see what's going wrong. The good news is that the causes are usually the same handful of problems, and most of them can be fixed without rebuilding everything.
1. It's slow on phones
Most of your visitors are probably on their phone, often on a mobile connection. If your site takes a long time to load, many of them will leave before they see anything. Big images are the usual culprit.
Fix: compress and resize your images, remove plugins and scripts you don't use, and test your site with Google's free PageSpeed Insights tool.
2. Visitors can't tell what you do in five seconds
If the top of your homepage says something vague like "Excellence in every detail", visitors have to work to understand whether you can help them. Most won't bother.
Fix: say plainly what you do, who it's for and where. "Family dentist in Phoenix, open Saturdays" beats any slogan.
3. There's no obvious next step
Every page should make it clear what you want the visitor to do next: call, book, buy or send a message. If your contact details are hidden at the bottom of one page, you're losing people who were ready to act.
Fix: add one clear button, like "Book a free quote", near the top of every key page, and repeat it further down.
4. It breaks on mobile
Text that's too small, buttons too close together, menus that don't open, forms you can't fill in. Many sites look fine on a laptop and fall apart on a phone.
Fix: go through your own site on your phone, as if you were a customer, and try to contact yourself. Fix anything that annoys you.
5. It doesn't look trustworthy
Outdated design, stock photos everyone has seen, no reviews, no real names or faces. People are cautious about who they hand their money to, and your site is often their first impression.
Fix: show real photos of your work and team, add customer reviews, and make your contact information easy to find.
People don't buy from the best business. They buy from the one they trust the most.
6. Your forms are too long
Every extra field on a contact form is another reason to give up. Asking for a budget, a company size and a phone number before someone has even said hello puts a lot of people off.
Fix: ask only for what you need to reply: name, email and a short message. You can ask the rest on the call.
7. Nobody can find it
A beautiful website that nobody visits doesn't help. If you don't show up when people search for what you do in your area, your site isn't doing its main job.
Fix: make sure each service has its own page with a clear title, set up your Google Business Profile, and get the SEO basics right.

Not always. Many of these problems can be fixed on your current site in a few days. A full redesign makes sense when your site is so outdated, slow or hard to edit that patching it would cost more than starting fresh.
